Urgent EuroWorking Group on Wed. for ‘Greek issue’

‘Window’ of progress emerges from weekend talks between institutional reps and Greek government officials

An extraordinary meeting of the EuroWorking Group, via teleconference, has been scheduled for Wednesday, following Saturday’s meeting in Paris between the so-called “Brussels Group” of institutional representatives with Greek officials.
A second day of the meetings continued on Sunday in the French capital amid increasing concerns that the cash-strapped SYRIZA government in Athens is running out of cash to pay monthly obligations – domestically and to overseas creditors.
The weekend meetings ostensibly aims to ascertain what progress has been achieved so far in talks between institutional lenders and Athens, as well as to finalize the axes with which lenders will sign-off on a bailout loan extension deal for Greece.
