Missing vocational student’s body found near Ioannina creek

After a month of searching, the worst scenario was proven correct

Newsroom March 15 10:23

A tragic end was reported on Sunday in the case of a missing vocational college student missing since early last February in the northwest city of Ioannina, with the body of Vangelis Yiakoumakis discovered in creek.

According to a protothema.gr, police discovered the body on Sunday morning.

An uncle of the missing 20-year-old man later confirmed the tragic news: “They found Vangelis, he is dead,” a tearful relative said.

The creek where Vangelis’ body was found was near Pamvotida Lake, on the banks of whom Ioannina is found, and not far from the dairy school where he attended classes and lived in a dormitory.
