In a recent study, women chose men with bigger penises for one-time sexual encounters than they did for their steady partners, indicating that the ideally-sized penis is slightly larger than the global average, and simultaneously shattering the notion that women care more about technique.
In a study of 75 women aged 18 to 65, University of California and University of New Mexico researchers provided a choice of 33 different-sized 3D penis models made of hard, scentless, blue plastic (so as to minimize or eliminate the possibility of a racial skin-color cue).
According to the average response, the preferred penis size in a long-term partner was 16 cm in length and 12.2 cm in circumference. However, the preferred penis size in a one-night stand or single sexual encounter based on the plastic penis model women chose was slightly larger, at 16.3 cm in length and 12.7 cm in circumference.
Previously, studies had only involved the use of flaccid, 2D penises, making this the first hard core evidence of women’s preferred penis sizes.
It was observed that the women in the study tended to chose penises larger than those “on supply,” given that the average penis, when erect, is 13.1 cm in length and 11.7 cm in circumference, according to a global survey of 15,000 phalluses published last year.
