15 employees in Greek Parliament have fake degrees

Breezing through CVs

Greek Parliament currently employs at least fifteen employees who were found to have provided fake degrees when they applied for the job. The revelation came on Wednesday following a review of the qualifications of civil servants working at Parliament House.

The review had kicked off during Vangelis Meimarakis tenure as Speaker of the House and was concluded by former speaker Zoe Konstantopoulou. The file has now been handed to the prosecutor. The employees in question face dismissal if it is proven that the fake qualifications played a significant role in their recruitment process.

It was also found that one more employee, whose employment contract had expired, had presented a fake degree.
