This is the first PPP project in the European Union that is co-financed by the European Investment Bank and Jessica funding tool. The total funding of the project amounts to 58 million euros. It is financed by the European Investment Bank, National Bank (Jessica) and Alpha Bank, according the the Ministry statements.

This project involves the design, financing, construction, maintenance and technical management of the schools for a period of 27 years.

The public schools will be constructed in the following municipalities:

1. Two in the municipality of Athens

2. One in the municipality of Ilion

3. One in the municipality of Peristeri

4. Two in the municipality of Keratsini

5. Four in the municipality of Kropia

6. Two in the municipality of Pallini-Gerakas

7. Two in the municipality of Penteli

The contractor will finance and build within two years, until April 2016, all school facilities and will remain responsible for their maintenance and technical management. It will also make additional investments and maintenance during the contract.
