The complete abolition of internal restrictive measures of capital movements other than opening new accounts was announced by the Cypriot Ministry of Finance.
Specifically, the cashing of checks is once more allowed, while the limits of transfers and payments in the Cypriot Republic are also allowed.
The restrictions on transactions with foreign countries will remain in place.
The restrictions were imposed after the Eurogroup’s decision in March 2013 for the “deposits haircut”.
