“Without us there is no government”, stated Evangelos Venizelos, after the meeting at Maximou Mansion with PM Antonis Samaras, while stressing that “there must be political and governmental stability”.
“I am describing the democratic reality with sensibility”, said Venizelos when asked by reporters to clarify his recent statements.
“Some say that what I do is blackmail: I just describe reality”, stated Venizelos.
The dilemma that Mr. Venizelos has put to the electorate has lit up the political scenery. PASOK’s president underlines that if in the upcoming elections citizens condemn the “Elia” party, then it poses a de facto question of keeping government cohesion.
“We need the commitment of society and national forces”, he added and stated that scenarios that speak of PASOK withdrawing its ministers from the government if it doesn’t keep its percentages, are “hilariously innacurate”.
