The pseudo-state of the occupied part of Cyprus is baffled by a couple that states that it recognizes the Republic of Cyprus and wastes no chance to raise the Cypriot flag. Yesterday, Koray Basdogrultmaci and Cinel Senem Husseyin, stated that they are not Turkish Cypriots but Turkish-speaking Cypriots, which landed them, promptly, in “court”, on the charges of having raises 3 Cypriot flags on the 21st of June 2013 outside their shop in Famagusta (Ammohostos).

The flags were removed by “police” of the puppet-state and the couple was arrested and indicted. It has been a year, though, and there has been no sign of a trial, as the pseudo-state has no “legislation” to cover the use of specific symbols. The couple refuse to apologize or pay a fine and have requested to be tried, in order for them to then have the right to appeal to the ECHR against Turkey.

The couple wonders how the raising of the Cypriot flag can be legal in Turkey during official international events and illegal in the occupied territories. Yesterday’s hearing was postponed once again for June 11th.
