The Parliament closed its doors to prevent the entrance of members of Golden Dawn in fear of causing heated incidents not allowing even people who have permission to enter.
The plenary session, which is scheduled at noon, will discuss the lifting of immunity of the Golden Dawn MPs including the detainees Giorgos Germenis and Stathis Boukouras.
The complaint was made by the MP of SYRIZA, Theano Fotiou, in the plenary session demanding explanations for the fact that the Parliament has banned the entrance to representatives of parties. Chairman Giorgos Kalantzis explained that entrance is banned as per the decision of the president, until one 1pm.
On the other hand Elias Kasidiaris by complained saying that “the President locked the Parliament and refused entry to citizens. This is illegal, this is junta. Please explain to us what do you fear of and we are witness of such a miserable picture. There are citizens who have the required permission and you don’t allow them to enter. What are you afraid of? The parents of the detainee MP have come and you don’t let them listen to their child”.
According to information, more than 50 applications were submitted to the Parliament office requiring permission to attend the plenary session. This apparently alarmed the Parliament guard that considers that Golden Dawn will attempt to cause heated incidents.
