Based on a much more minimalist language than what has been traditionaly connected with the notion of psychedelia in the music industry, the exhibition explores themes of spirituality and symbolism, such as faith, mythology, individual and collective perceptions of life and reality, proposing a reading with multi-cultural, religious, social and political references, and how concepts such as that of transformation and non-human perception are seen through artistic form concepts.
Pius Fox will be presenting a series of small paintings on canvas. Interior landscapes which are simultaneously “inner landscapes”.
John Kleckner has a collage onto vinyl disks, with references to the 70s and its relationship between psychedelia and music.
Helen Kotsoni will create an in situ installation with braids and fabrics, with references to hallucinogenic substances and the art of shamans.
Yudi Noor will present a series of works from materials and objects of various origins such as textiles, embroidery, photos, adhesive tape and glass. Compositions produces through a spontaneous and semi-autonomous daily ritual.
Dean Spunt is involved with a sound installation and a performance lasting for 15 minutes during which sound will transform into matter.
Last but not least, George Stamkopoulos will be exhibiting his new paintings inspired by music and club visuals.
The 15 minute performance by Dean Spunt (member of experimental punk band NO AGE) will be taking place on Sunday 06.08.14 at 5pm.
