Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will attend today the 16th memorial service of the founder of New Democracy party, Constantine Karamanlis.
With his presence and the joint appearance with former Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis he aims to send a message of unity of the party in view of the European and municipality elections.
It seems that Prime Minister will not change his plans for the New Greece judging by his two recent public appearances, the presentation of his party’s proposal for a constitutional amendment and his yesterday’s speech to the Parliamentary Group of his party.
Mr. Samaras said clearly: “I ask Greek people to give me the strength to proceed and built a New Greece”.
It is clear enough that some members of the party, mainly supporters of the founder Constantine Karamanlis, do not welcome the decision of Antonis Samaras to leave behind New Democracy and according to rumors the relations between Antonis Samaras and former Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis are disturbed.
Prime Minister asked yesterday from his MPs to fight for the upcoming elections and set the frame unleashing a fierce attack on SYRIZA by saying:
“What will SYRIZA do without the barbarians and the crisis? They will disappear. They rose due to crisis, due to the frustration of people. They are fed by the crisis and their enemy is growth. This is why they want to bring back the crisis. We are moving forward and they want to go back to chaos and misery. SYRIZA does not want Greece to become a normal country, this is why it wants new memoranda. But, there will be no new memoranda, no new measures. SYRIZA is trying to destabilize the country. Its name is synonymous to instability, its basic purpose is instability but we will not permit it,”.
Mr Antonis Samaras and his team believe that the prospect of exiting from the crisis and the development of a New Greece will prevail against the frustration of citizens helping them to gain the votes they want.
“Our enemy is laxity, abstaining from voting” Mr Samaras said addressing to his MPs.
Prime Minister will continue his attack towards SYRIZA, which is his basic strategy, and next Friday he will present the national development plan: “There has never been a comprehensive plan for the country’s regrowth both in terms of state and development,” he said.
