Prime Minister Antonis Samaras made a statement supporting the nomination of Aris Spiliotopoulos for Mayor of Athens, a few hours before the polls open for the first round of local elections.
Speaking to reporters, the PM stressed that “the dilemma in Athens is very specific”.
“Will we leave the city wallow in idleness and anarchy? Or will we join our forces so that no vote goes to waste, so that Athens can progress? Aris Spiliotopoulos’ candidacy is for progress”, he said.
