Now, that’s irony… The head of global risk company and auditing organization Deloitte Touche “stole” more than $110,000 from a casino, to which he had offered his company’s services.
According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), certified accountant James T. Adams, is accused of opening a credit line at the casino, which is owned by a gaming company-client of Deloitte, withdrawing thousands of dollars from 2009 to 2010, which he never returned.
The 69 year-old Adams concealed the fact from Deloitte & Touche, from which he resigned in 2010 after 36 years of work.
Adams will be punished with suspension of his license for two years after a settlement with the SEC, as his behavior is considered a violation of auditor independence rules.
