Australian actor Hugh Jackman expressed his wish to visit Greece and particularly his great grandfather’s island Ios at the premiere of his new picture X-men: Days of Future Past in Melbourne.

Jackman said to a journalist representing a Greek newspaper “Do you know that I have Greek blood. My great grandfather was Greek from the island of Ios and his name was Belas” adding that he has been to Greece many times but never have been on Ios

“My father and my brother have visited Ios many times but I haven’t. Now, I’m ready to go. I want it very much. I want to see great grandfather’s island and I will do it”.

The premiere’s revenues were offered to the Fight Cancer Foundation for which Jackman is ambassador.
