Mr Vassilis Kapernaros said that the Independent Greeks party is “Like all the other parties” when he departed from the party of Mr. Panos Kammenos, the Independent Greeks.
Explaining the reasons for becoming an independent politician he said that he realized for once more during the meeting of the Independent Greeks party that “nothing is going to change”, while for his political future he noted that he cannot prejudge anything and left the possibility of joining another party open.
However, he stressed that his decision was not a result of getting in touch with another party and clarified that “ the reasons for my political independence do not include my collaboration with another party. I’ve never played footsie before and I will not do it now,”.’
During yesterday’s meeting Mr Kapernaros informed the members of the party about him becoming independent surprising all the members.
According to sources, Mr. Kapernaros said that he was “very sad” and directly accused the president of not supporting him during his election campaign for the Municipality of Athens.
