“Gelibolu” Turkish military frigate went on…”patrol” in Greek territorial waters. On Monday morning it seemed to go on a pleasure cruise within the Greek Aegean Sea territory, around Naxos, Milos and Paros islands!

It seems it  is the Turkish Navy’s routine now, to keep breaking the rules of innocent passage and provocatively sail around the Greek coastline on what might seem like an innocent pleasure cruise, but in reality is a direct provocation against international law and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Turkish warship entered Greek marine territories in the area north of Naxos during the early morning hours and remained in the Cyclades region until 11.30 a.m.  As the Minsitry’s announcement states: “At 01.00 a.m. it sailed inwards towards Naxos and at 4.45 a.m it moved north of Milos. From then onwards, until 10.00 a.m., it remained in Milos’ international waters. Afterwards, it moved north of Paros and began its trip back to Turkey, at 11.30 a.m. Greek warships, supported by Navy and Air Force jets had close overwatch of the violating warship throughout the duration of its voyage”.
