The Golden Dawn MP’s attempted to turn the discussion on the immunity waiver for the remanded Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos and Golden Dawn MP’s Christos Pappas and Yannis Lagos into a farce, despite the fact that the other parties’ MPs avoided responding to the continuous provocations.
More specifically, when the Greek parliamentary vice-president Christos Markogiannakis asked Mr. Chistos Pappas to withdraw the comment “you are wretched and vile”, the Golden Dawn MPs who were present at the session started yelling profanities.
“Shut up you greaseball!” exclaimed Mr. Nikos Michaloliakos along with other Golden Dawn MPs, including Mr Michalis Arvanitis and Mr. Nikos Michos, who called the rest of the MPs “clowns” and “a disgrace”.
When Mr. Petros Tatsopoulos, an independent MP, called the GD MPs “fascists”, Mr. Michos and Mr. Koukoutsis replied: “Shut up you faggot!”
It should be noted that, when the three remanded MPs arrived at the Parliament and the Presidential Guard approached Nikos Michaloliakos, he screamed at them “Don’t you dare touch me”, while a group of GD supporters behind him – including his daughter – chanted slogans, urging the leader of the far-right party to expose and ridicule the system.
