The Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, announced that she will not be running for the presidency of the European Commission, stressing that she wants to complete her term in the IMF.
During a London press conference, Ms. Lagarde stated that she has followed her youngest son’s advice: “Mom, when you start something, you have to see it through”.
“I’m not a candidate and that is because I already have a job. It is a job which I believe is quite important at this moment, which the UK was kind enough to support. I feel that I must do my job and see it through”.
