A different helicopter air freight transfer was immortalized by photographer Em Gatland and his camera in South Africa.
These incredible pictures show the transfer of a rhino by helicopter at a height of 2,000 meters. The operation was organized by activists who try to ensure the protection of the species.
Such air hauls are made each year in South Africa, in order for rhinos to be in a safe place and for their health to be monitored easily.
The helicopter is the safest means to transfer them, while the rhino is obviously unconscious during the aerial transfer to avoid any mishaps.
The photographer stated that “It is a complex process, but an amazing one”. The rhino will remain under observation for the next five weeks until it can be confirmed that he has adapted to his new environment.
