Greece has to win against Japan

Greece missed a number of chances to score and get back in the game but the defence mistakes it made resulted to its defeat

Newsroom June 16 10:46

Even though Greece recovered early after the goal of Armero (5 ‘) and threatened to score twice with Kone, it was Colombia that scored again at 58’ and 93’.

As “sport-fm” mentions winning the match against Japan on June 19 is now considered necessary. However, Japan wants also to win since the national team lost 2-1 at the match against Ivory Coast.

Naturally the Colombian press celebrates their team’s win. The newspaper El Herald mentions that “Colombia won Olympus and returned the World Cup after 16 years …”. whereas Winsports writes about a dream debut of Colombia returning to the World Cup after 16 years scoring many times against Greece.

The Spanish newspaper As writes that Colombia killed without prevailing over Greece that missed some goals, while El Pais says that Colombia overcame the absence of Falcao, who could not participate due to an injury.

The French Lequipe, referring to the absence of the “tiger” Falcao, notes that the Tiger was missing, but not his claws, while the Portuguese Record writes about a fair win of Colombia.

The Greek press comments on the defeat of the National team by saying that it is something that saddened the Greeks, but the final score was not unfair. It is also stressed that the Greek national team must fight against Japan and win.
