More specifically, thousands of protesters gathered in the streets of the Albanian capital outside the office of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has been governing the country since 2013, following a call by the opposition party, the Democratic Party (PD). They demanded his resignation, as well as that of his government, due to allegations of corruption.
