Cave of the Dragon
The cave of the Dragon is the most impressive among a number of caves located next to the lake north of the town of Kastoria, near the chapel of St. Nicholas. The pattern of the entrance, similar to a dragon’s mouth, has fed the folk tradition with legends about the cave. People of the past believed it was a gold mine and the den of a dragon that emits fire from its mouth.
