On the night of June 18, the dark sky over the lake Brno in the Czech Republic became a stage for the impressive firework show of the special effects expert and firework show director Pavlos Nanos. The show included synchronized music which highlighted the beauty of the sparkling colors.
“It is like a theatrical performance, only realized with fireworks ” said to ANA-MPA Mr. Nanos who along with his team won first place for Greece in the International Firework Competition Ignis Brunensis 2014, which is held every year in Brno Lake in the Czech Republic.
This year, 50 countries participated in this prestigious competition that was born 17 years ago. Of them, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia and Greece advanced to the final of Ignis Brunensis. Mr. Nanos and his team presented a show on the theme of the social crisis.
150,000 spectators enjoyed the amazing show that deservedly won the first place.
The Greek winning team received the award in a special ceremony held on June 19 in the Town Hall of Brno, where the national anthem of Greece was also played.
“It is a 17 minute show ,” explained Mr. Nanos. “The first part is a traditional Czech dance where you can see the moves of the couple as symbolized by the colors of the flag of the host country, the Czech Republic. The second part is an artistic segment that sends the message that something is wrong in modern society. Through war, violence, poverty, the destruction of the environment and social inequality man becomes an enemy of his own self. The second part of the show uses songs like David Usher’s “Black black heart” and Lana Del Ray’s “Summertime sadness” as well as excerpts from famous speeches, to urge the new generation to pursue a better future for the planet and themselves.”
