The new “successor” of the Greek General State Revenue Secretary

The Greek Minister of Finance favors Katerina Savvaidou for the position of General State Revenue Secretary

Mrs. Catherine Savvaidou has been selected and proposed to the cabinet for the position of General State Revenue Secretary , the five-member committee under the Minister of Finance Mr. Gikas Hardouvelis. The final decision will be taken by the Cabinet, after considering the recommendation of the committee.
Mrs Savvaidou has a very enriched biography and seems to have lots of knowledge.

According to an MOF statement Mrs Savvaidis is specializing in tax matters, researcher and an experienced professional with a long career in private and public sectors. She is also a lawyer at the Supreme Court and Senior Manager in the company «PwC-Hellas,” where she leads a team of approximately 100 lawyers and tax consultants, as well as a Knowledge Manager to the whole company, which has approximately 900 employees.
A Lecturer at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and taught previously at the University of Athens and has numerous publications in legal forms and business newspapers. Her activities include contributing to the establishment of the National Youth Institute of the Ministry of Education (2006-2007).

Mrs Savvaidou is a graduate of the National Law School University of Athens (1995), has a University diploma of French Studies (1994-1995), master’s degree in public law (1995-1996), master’s degree on Financial and Tax Law with emphasis in Financial Law (1996-1997) and a PhD from the Université de Paris II, Assas, entitled “The forced collection of taxes in the French and Greek Law” (1997-2003). She has done postdoctoral research in the academic field of tax law, particularly in corporate tax law at the University of Athens (2004-2006). Further, she has attended a Postgraduate program in Harvard University on “Comparative Tax Policy and Administration ‘(2008-2009).
