The investigating magistrates handling the Golden Dawn (GD) case gave a one-week extension to deputies Ilias Kasidiaris and Nikos Mihos to prepare their testimony.

Magistrates set a July 9 and 10 deadline for Mihos and Kasidiaris respectively.

The two were summoned to give supplementary explanations as the additional charge of illegal weapon possession has been pressed against them. Mihos is also accused of violation of the law on drugs.

The two deputies questioned the additional charge claiming the persecution was for political reasons.

Detained party leader Nikos Michaloliakos and deputies Christos Pappas and Yiannis Lagos have been summoned to provide supplementary testimonies on Friday.
