Greece achieved its second exit to international markets within just three months by issuing a 3-year bond yesterday aiming to raise 2.5-3 billion euros.
It is estimated that the rate might be between 3% and 3.5%. “Any rate below 3.5% will be a success,” sources of the economic team said, while foreign analysts said that now is a very good period for issuing a 3-year bond, since there is a great demand abroad for the highest possible yields in the eurozone, the disbursement of 1 billion trance is already done and the rate of Greek treasure notes is drastically reduced.
The Ministry of Finance announced yesterday afternoon that “it mandated international banks for the forthcoming 3-year bond issue”. Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Citi, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Nomura, HSBC, UBS and BMP Paribas will act as joint bookrunners.
Issuing this 3-year bond the government aims to enhance the liquidity of the state.
