According to the South Korean agency Yonhap , North Korea launched last Saturday a short-range missile into the sea for the fifteenth time this year.
In a statement of the general staff of the army of South Korea is stated that: North Korea “launched a short-range missile, which is probably Scud in Japans sea of at 21:40 (local time, 3:40 GMT).”
The rocket of a 500 km range, was launched from the Jiangsu Cup of western North Korea near the line separating it from South Korea
Further, the statement points that “We analyze the incentive to launch such a rocket and now we raise the level of alert even higher in view of other potential launches” .
The Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe expressed his “strong protest”, while added that “We must make clear to North Korea that the development of nuclear (program) and missiles cannot keep pace with economic growth”.
Many UN resolutions prohibit to North Korea to proceed in such launches using ballistic missile technology, while the Security Council condemned Pyongyang in early July for the recent launches.
