Pope Francis, during the Vatican’s Sunday Prayer while addressing the faithful crowd before him, appealed to both sides in order to stop this bloody conflict.
The Pope didn’t directly refer to the prevalent condition in Gaza, but his comments were made after the collapse of the cease fire which was agreed upon by Israel and the Hamas.
As quoted in his message, ‘’Brothers and sisters, war is never an option! Above all my mind goes to all the children who are deprived of a fair chance in a life worth leading and their future is taken from them. Dead children, injured or amputated, orphans, kids whose toys are war leftovers and cannot smile any longer’’.
The Pontific also appealed for peace in Iraq and Ukraine.
At the same time, France through the Minister of Foreign affairs, Laurant Fabius, condemned the incessant violence in Gaza and Israel and asked for an immediate and viable cease fire, followed by the beginning of peace talks.
