The Greek bond yields retreated on Friday while the investors expect the credit rating upgrade of Greece by Moody’s, later in the day.
According to Reuters, an upgrade of Greece from the step of Caa3 Moody’s is imminent after the market close.
Many investors seem to support that an upgrade is possible as the economic prospects of Greece have improved and this year the first successful Greek bond issuance took place since 2010. Greece’s economic outlook has improved and its held two successful debt sales this year, after its 2012 default.
After these intense speculation, yields on ten-year Greek bonds fell two basis points to 6.04%, despite a slight increase (1.4 basis points) yields on government bonds of other European countries in the region.
