An earthquake measuring 4,8 on the Richter scale was recorded on Friday at 11.20 in the sea region south of Crete, according to Athens Geodynamic Institute.

The epicentre of the quake was located 30km south of Tympaki.

Tremors were felt in many areas of the island. No damages or injuries have been reported.
