The double hit made by the team of the arrested Nikos Maziotis changes the scenery and puts anti-terrorist unit on red alert.

The appearance of the wife of arrested suspected terrorist Maziotis by publishing a proclamation where she states that the arrest of Maziotis at the center of Athens was accidental and she defends his choice to open fire among innocent civilians, as well as the fact that Revolutionary Struggle members might be behind the robbery in Saronida, changes the scenery and alerts the anti-terrorist unit.

According to the analysts, 35-year-old Giorgos Petrakakos, who is a member of Maziotis’s terrorist organization, and five other criminals from Thessaloniki and Argolida, might have committed the bank robbery taking about 3,300 euros.
If this scenario is confirmed, then another attack might be expected soon. That’s why the headquarters of the Hellenic Police draw again their action plan for August.

Analysts recognized in bank’s video a young man wearing an electrician robe, who has some common features with one of the robbers of the bank branches at Methana and Akrata, and two men wearing wigs.

They believe that Giorgos Petrakakos is one of them. “We are investigating this possibility. But it is weird since Revolutionary Struggle has already 1.5 million euros… Why would they bother to steal just 3,300 euros? Unless something else is going on…” said a police officer to protothema.gr.

By comparing the two videos recorded by the banks’ surveillance system, it is proved that the same armed group robbed the bank on July 1 at Marathona stealing 70,000 euros. If this is finally confirmed, then probably the members of Revolutionary Struggle did not commit the robberies, since at that time “all police forces were chasing them and their leader was arrested, we believe that it is not possible they committed the robbery” a source of the ministry noted.
