Forrest Gump was the role that took off Tom Hanks’s career and gave him the second consecutive Academy Award.

A video of his audition was recently published showing him reading the script with actress Robin Wright, who played the role of Jenny, and the scene where Jenny meets Forrest their son, Forrest Jr., played by Joel Osment.

As you will notice right away if you are a fan of the movie, Tom Hanks does not have the strong accent that Forrest had in the movie.
