In Gaza thousands of Palestinians celebrating in the streets the ceasefire. Shots in token of joy ringing in Gaza City, while mosques prayers were heard.

According to the Egyptian diplomacy the ceasefire which came into force today in Gaza provides the immediate opening of crossings between Israel and the Palestinian enclave in order for ” rapid humanitarian assistance to enter and resources and materials for rebuilding,” said the Egyptian diplomacy .

The ceasefire, which was declared “permanently” from the Palestinians came into force at 19:00 (GMT).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt “The two sides have accepted the new call of Egypt for a comprehensive and mutual ceasefire accompanied by the simultaneous opening of the crossing points between Gaza and Israel to ensure the rapid transfer of humanitarian aid, first aid and means of reconstruction”.

Further, according to the statement, the agreement will also allow the “fishing at distance up to 6 nautical miles, and the continuation of indirect negotiations (in Cairo) between the two sides on other issues for a period of one month after the start of the ceasefire,” according to the statement.
