Celebrity chef Rick Stein has done wonders for Indian and Spanish cooking, but can he do the same for Greece and Turkey? In a new five-part series, titled “Rick Stein: From Venice to Istanbul”, due to air next year, Stein will focus on food from around the Aegean sea.
“People are a bit rude about Greek food but if you go into people’s houses you find an absolute wealth of really good dishes – vegetable dishes in particular,” says Stein. “They also do very nice filo pastry pies.”
