In a few days the World Tourism Day (WTD) will be celebrated under the theme Tourism and Community Development highlighting the ability of tourism to empower people and provide them with skills to change their lives and that of their communities.
The day is set to honor tourism, a domain which drives economic growth and development worldwide.
WTD 2014 is being celebrated on 27 September and aims to raise awareness of how tourism can be an engine for community development, one of the building blocks of a more sustainable future for all.
Official WTD celebrations are hosted in the city of Guadalajara in Mexico.
