The leader of the main opposition party SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, will speak today to his parliamentary group and is expected to highlight how his party will fight against the government during the discussion on the vote of confidence scheduled to start tomorrow.
Mr. Tsipras is expected to trigger the deconstruction of the draft budget submitted by the government. SYRIZA claims that this is a very optimistic plan, which does not correspond to reality, and that it is pointless, since it will change when the final draft is prepared, but mainly because a totally different budget plan will be formed in the spring with the change of government.
Mr. Tsipras is expected to launch an attack against the government and Prime Minister Antonis Samaras claiming that he attempts to deceive and trick Greek people by declaring Greece’s exit from the Memorandum. He will also accuse him of avoiding the confrontation, since Samaras scheduled the discussion on the day he will be abroad. It is also expected to seek early elections again, stressing that the vote of confidence can only be given by Greek citizens.
