According to information the expert investigating the case, refuted  39 year old truck drivers statement who spread death on Sunday morning in Egnatia highway.

As reported by the national TV channel NERIT, the expert notes that there is no chance that the problem on the brakes appeared just 23 km before the pileup point, and explains that if that was the case the truck would have been diverted much earlier.

According to the expert, the problem with the brakes appeared not long before the pileup point. Further, he does not confirm that the fire on the truck  broke out prior to the crash, but he believes that the fire erupted from leaking petrol of a jeep that was among the cars that the truck crashed into.

On Thursday the Rumanian driver is scheduled to testify and present to the investigator his version of what happened on Sunday morning in Egnatia highway.
