“The president is in good health and is resting at the hotel” the Cypriot government spokesman Nikos Christodoulides wrote on Twitter.

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades on Thursday morning was admitted to a hospital in Brussels due to a prolonged nosebleed. Anastasiades was in Brussels to attend a European Council meeting.

Cyprus government spokesman Nicos Christodoulides said in a written statement that Anastasiades was admitted to hospital after a prolonged nosebleed and it was found that this was caused due to high blood pressure.

“The President receives treatment and was adviced to remain in bed for the next 48 hours. He is being monitored by a doctor in Brussels”, the spokesman said.
