The 5th simultaneous, public breastfeeding event will take place in fifty cities around Greece on Sunday, November 2, in the context of the celebrations for the World Breastfeeding Week (November 1-7 November).

The event is organized by the National Network of Volunteering Groups for Breastfeeding and Motherhood and its aim is to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and build support for breastfeeding in communities.

“A newborn baby needs only three things: Warmth from its mother’s arms, nourishment from her breast and safety from her presence and breast feeding can cover all three of these needs at once,” the network said in a statement.

In Athens, the event will take place at Zappeio Hall at 11am.
