Cyprus: Alarming scenarios of hijacking by jihadists

Foreign intelligence services reported information on planed attacks by the Islamic State in flights from Cyprus airports -Strict controls on foreign nationals in Arab

Since yesterday the Cypriot authorities in Larnaca and Paphos are in a state of alert after information of Jihadists of the Islamic State plan of hijacking flights from Cyprus airports.

According to Foreign information by the intelligence services the hijacking attacks are planned for aircrafts operating from Cyprus, which will be then brought to Syria or Iraq to airports controlled by ISIS.

Passengers will be held as hostages and the terrorists will demand the end of use of British bases from which the RAF carry out attacks against aircraft positions of IKIL in Iraq and Syria.

Sources of the intelligence services in Cyprus mentioned to protothema.gr that lately they receive information concerning possible action jihadists in Cyprus.
The spokesman of the Cyprus Police confirms the information.

Cyprus makes strict controls on foreign nationals of Arab origin who arrive in Cyprus without apparent purpose to justify the trip.

There are also reports that some of them try to head first to the occupied area of Cyprus and from there to Turkey to reach Syria.
