"Inquisitiveness soon shows you a different side of Athens," the travel blogger says

Newsroom November 5 02:22

Becki Enright, a British Press award winning travel writer and adventurer reveals the best-kept secrets of Athens in her blog “Borders of Adventure,” describing her experiences during her weeklong stay in the Greek capital.

Ms. Enright, who visited Athens in the context of the international campaign “I’m An Aθenian Too” shared her views on the misunderstood city via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Using the motto “live local, see more,” the famous travel blogger underlined that many visitors “stay in the heart of the tourist area of Monastiraki without straying far, not knowing that just a few streets away is the real Athens and the allure of an emerging, changing city.”

The blogger, whose tour included central Athens neighborhoods and the Saronic Gulf islands, advices the travelers to travel differently and with purpose: “Inquisitiveness soon shows you a different side of Athens. Attempting to understand it in context of its recent plight makes you appreciate it even more so.”

The ongoing “I’m An Aθenian Too” competition. organized by Marketing Greece and Athens International Airport, invites visitors to share their stamped photo of the Greek capital on social media. The owners of the 100 best trending photos in the campaign will be asked to share their story of what inspires them most about Athens.

The three most inspiring authors will be chosen as the winners of unique holidays for two in Athens.
