Greece’s trains operator, TRAINOSE, has introduced a special combo rail ticket, the Kalavryta CityPass, for tourists visiting the historic mountain village of Kalavryta in the Peloponnese. For the price of 24.80 euros, commuters will be able to make a return trip on the “odontotos” rack railway that travels through a scenic mountain route from Diakopto to Kalavryta.
The pass also allows for free entrance to the Kalavryta ski resort as well as a free ride to the Vathia Lakka slope using the ski lift. Alternatively, visitors can use their combo ticket for entry to the “Tetramythos” winery, Kalavryta Holocaust Museum as well as the “Cave of the Lakes” near Castria that allows visitors to explore the vast network of rivers, lakes and pools as well as the impressive stalactite and stalagmite formation.
The Kalayvryta CityPass is valid for one month from the date of issue and available at the railway stations of Kalavryta, Diakopto and Patras as well as TRAINOSE’s travel agency in Athens at 6 Sina Street.
