Hellenic Seaplanes joined forces with the University of Piraeus last week in a new course titled “Port Planning and Organization” to be offered by the university’s Department of Maritime Studies. The course aims at educating future employees and executives on the operation and management of the country’s waterways so as to contribute to the development of the sector and open the market to more job positions.

“Collaborations between universities and businesses can make it possible to meet hte challenges of the present and plan the future in fields that need growth,” said University of Piraeus Professor Konstantinos Hlomoudis.

Hellenic Seaplanes also announced its collaboration with a Cypriot educational facilities in order to create a new field of study in aviation management. Hellenic Seaplanes goal is to connect Greek islands with the mainland via waterways. There are a total of 30 routes in the process of licensing countrywide with most of them to be operational by 2015.
