Tourists will soon be able to book train tour packages covering prime destinations. The Hellenic Company for Rolling Stock Maintenance (EESSTY) will organize these tours that will be run by TrainOSE. Three primary destinations to be opened up next year include the Peloponnese in Southern Greece, Pelion in Central Greece and Kalavryta in Southern Greece.

The EESTY has already discussed train travel deals with international tourist agents at this year’s World Travel Market in London and the first agreements are expected to be finalized in the near future.

The steam engine named “Moutzouris” that dates back to 1860 is undergoing maintenance and will be running the 22km scenic route from the village of Zachlorou to Kalavryta next month.
