On Friday, the Turkish Parliament President on the occasion of the celebrations for the proclamation of the pseudostate stated that the Cyprus issue is a national affair for Turkey.

Further he supported that Turkey always made efforts to solve the Cyprus issue but as he argued “can not be done because of the attitude held by the Greek Cypriot side, which is something that the international community should see”.

He further he stated that the accession of Cyprus in the EU was a mistake and added that “the Greek Cypriot side does everything within its power for negotiations on the Cypriot issue to fail”.
