49 year old Greek citizen lost his life yesterday by gunfire near the airport of the capital of the self-proclaimed “DR Donetsk” which has secede from Ukraine.

Although so far there is little information about the man but crossed by many local sources speak of and attack of Ukrainian forces with artillery fire against Russian-speaking militia.

However, as it became known the man was a historian who visited the area  a few months ago to succor and help his decrepit mother and was  planning to take her with him to Greece, where he lives with the rest of his family, his wife, son and daughter.

Moreover, he decided to abandon Athens and  join the Russian-speaking militia and fight against the forces of Kiev. Indeed, he had stated that he was collecting information of the  “criminal” as he described them, “acts of Ukrainian forces” and that he intended to use this material as a basis for a future release or a documentary.

So far the Greek authorities have no information on the 49 year old man’s death.
