“Every Life Counts” and “Live and let others live too” were the slogans of tens of thousands of Spaniards gathered in Madrid protesting against abortion.

Protesters call on the Spanish Government to honor its commitment to limit women’s right to abortion.

Others slogans were “Those who do abortions are murderers” and  ‘Yes to life, no to abortion. ”

The Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy promised before his election in 2011 to tighten the legal framework for abortion, but withdrew the bill in September due to heavy criticism even within the party itself.
