The blast was attributed to militant group Boko Haram.

According to a forensic source at least 59 people died in an attack by the Islamic  militant group Boko Haram in the northeastern Nigeria.

The amount of dead people was indicated by a source at the morgue of a hospital and speaks of 33 police officers – 6 soldiers – 20 citizens sources.

However, there are estimates of many more victims, since according to further information the rebels were moving away bodies in a truck.

Armed forces of Nigeria were forced to ask for support of the Air Force in order  to repel the onslaught of the Islamists.
