The Global Militarization Index (GMI) issued by the Bonn International Centerfor Conversion found that the most militarized country in the world is Israel. Other highly-militarized countries include Singapore, Armenia, Syria, Russia and Cyprus that is sixth on the list. Three spots down, following South Korea and Jordan comes Greece as the ninth most militarized country and Azerbaijan.
On the other end of the spectrum, the least militarized countries are Panama, Costa Rica and Haiti.
The index covers a total of 152 countries and is based on data from 2013.
