In the question during his interview to the British Channel four journalist Paul Mason about what happens in case they deny to delete the 50% of the Greek debt,  the leader of SYRIZA replied that “SYRIZA is the wakeup call for the leaders of the EU”. What we are asking for is a European conference in order for all us united to address this European problem. There is no other solution to the problem but to delete a big part of the debt, a new memorandum on the repayment and a new development  clause”.

Mr. Alexis Tsipras during his interview states that “In reality we are not asking of any more money or loans in order to repay the old ones. Obviously we will negotiate with our partners in order for all of us united to address the Greek debt issue”.

Furthermore, Mr. Tsipras leaves open the possibility that the government of SYRIZA could proceed with the issuance of bonds following the practice of all other governments but categorically rejects the possibility of financing the deficits in the public’s deposits.

On the occasion of Merkels visit in London the British journalist asked Mr. Tsipras if he prefers debt reduction rather for the Parthenon marbles to be returned.

The leader of SYRIZA replied that “We will demand a reduction of the national debt and the money that Germany owes us as well as retrieval of the Parthenon marbles”.
